Hi, I'm Ellie. I am a wife, soon-to-be mama, photographer, and birth doula. I was born and raised in Southern California and am now living in Bakersfield, CA with my husband. I have always been fascinated with the miracle of birth, and from a young age I knew I wanted to work in a health profession. I spent time in school volunteering at a hospital and interning at a pregnancy shelter for women. That was when I was first introduced to the important role of a doula.
In 2016, I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Azusa Pacific University. I then went on to be trained and certified as a birth doula with DONA International. It has been neat to apply my college education to my experiences as a doula. I feel I am better able to understand the emotional and psychological needs of a woman in labor because of my education. My passion for serving women has only grown with each birth experience I am able to be a part of.
If I am not attending a birth, you can find me pretty much anywhere outdoors, hiking, swimming, or daydreaming about being by the beach. I love breakfast for dinner, photography, and watching Fixer Upper marathons. You might also find me painting, crafting or working on new DIY projects for around our home.
